I have just completed a test of the Blackberry Playbook, running ver 2.0. Having used many tablets including Ipad and Samsung Tab, i have to say the Blackberry Playbook is one of the most useless pieces of tech i have come across. Whilst it is sturdy in construction and the built in speakers are surprisingly good quality, the camera is very low resolution and there is no flash capability. The biggest letdown is the software. The Blackberry app stores is pitiful compared to Apple and Android, and apps that i commonly use are not available. Dropbox, Logmein to name just two.

The most annoying and ridiculous problem is the Playbook does not support Microsoft Exchange. This email solution is one of the most used of all email options yet Blackberry choose not to support it on this device.

In conclusion, this experience has completely put me off Blackberry and i will now be disposing of the Playbook. It is NOT a business tool and is good for not much more than a DVD player and MP3.

Please be advise that Microsoft have now adopted the poor habit of making the COA labels out of paper rather than vinyl. This has been proven to cause the COA to become unreadable within less than 12 months.

COA stands for Code of Authenticity. The label can always be found on the bottom of all laptops and normally on a side panel of a pc base unit. This label provides the 25 digit product key for your computer. In the event your computer has to be formatted and have the operating system re-installed, the computer engineer will need this product key. Without it, you will need to pay for a new licence.

Microsoft always made these labels from vinyl that lasted years, but now, probably due to cost cutting, the labels are made of paper. Constant contact with the bottom of a laptop has proven to “rub” off the product key.

BE WARNED. When you buy a new laptop or pc, take a photograph of the product key and keep it safe.

We are coming across more Clients who are allowing their browser to save password details. PC Repair Leeds strongly advise AGAINST this practice. If you pc gets infected with malware or a virus, saved details can be easily accessed and sent to the rogue malware operator. Where possible, do not save any details on your pc. Whilst it may be convenient to use additional browser facilities that can save many pieces of your personal data, this is not a safe way to browse.

If you receive a telephone call, allegedly from Microsoft, hang up. The purpose of the scam is to trick you into allowing these questionable companies to access your pc remotely, allegedly find malware, and then sell you non existent anti-virus software. Once you have handed over your credit card details, your bank account empties like bath water.

MICROSOFT do not telephone customers. You have been warned!!!!!

Hi Guys. Just thought i would update you on my experience with OS Lion. DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Whilst i have seriously struggled to locate all 250 new features, i have constantly seen problems with stability, reliability and speed. I have now gone back to Snow Leopard and my MAC is back to normal. I am not sure what Apple has done with LION but they certainly have not made any improvement in my opinion. If you have a nice stable system using Snow Leopard, then don’t bother upgrading to LION. You will have nothing but frustration.
